Please read these terms and conditions carefully.

This page (together with our Privacy Policy tells you information about us and the legal terms and conditions (Terms) on which we sell and you may purchase admission tickets and other services (Services) listed on our website (Site) to you, including but not limited to memberships, animal adoptions, animal experiences, merchandise and adoption packs.

These Terms will apply to any contract between us for the sale of Services to you (Contract). Please read these Terms carefully and make sure that you understand them, before ordering any Services from our site.

By completing an order on our Site you are accepting these Terms. If you refuse to accept these Terms, you will not be able to order any Services from our Site.

You should print a copy of these Terms or save them to your computer for future reference.

Every time you wish to order our Services, please check these Terms to ensure you understand the terms which will apply at that time. These Terms were most recently updated on 26.02.2024.

These Terms, and any Contract between us, are only in the English language.

About Us:

We are The Parrot Zoo Trust (charity no: 1162135) trading as Lincolnshire Wildlife Park. We are a company registered in England and Wales under company number CE003535 and with our registered office at Dickon Hill Road, Friskney, Boston, Lincolnshire, PE22 8PP. Our main trading address is at Lincolnshire Wildlife Park, Dickon Hill Road, Friskney, Boston, Lincolnshire, PE22 8PP. Our VAT number is 176747267. We operate the website www.lincswildlife.com

Park opening hours are 9:30am – 5pm (March – October) or 9:30am – 4pm (November – February).

How the contract is formed between us and you:

  • Our order process allows you to check and amend any errors before submitting your order to us. Please take the time to read and check your order at each page of the order process. If you wish to make any changes to your order or information provided once you have already placed an order, please contact us on 01754820107. However, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to act on any request changes at this point.
  • When you place an order through our Site, this will be an offer by you to purchase those items displayed in your shopping basket.
  • After you place an order, you will be provided with an order reference number, which you should retain. You will then receive an e-mail from us acknowledging that your order has been sent to us for processing. However, please note that this does not mean that your order has been accepted. Our acceptance of your order will take place as described  below.
  • We will confirm our acceptance to you by sending you an email that contains your barcoded e-ticket (where applicable), confirms the details of the cost of your order, any delivery or postal charges and any estimated date of dispatch, together with other important information (Confirmation). Once your order is complete, payment will be taken from your card at which point the Contract between us will be formed.
  • You should print out and retain your Confirmation email in the event that you need to contact us about your order.

Park Regulations:

We reserve the right in our absolute discretion to refuse entry to the Zoo, prohibit from any future entry to the Zoo or escort from the Zoo premises, any person who whilst on the Zoo premises or communicating with us:

  • uses threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or in any way provokes or behaves in a manner, which may provoke a breach of the peace, cause offence or disrupt any of our animals.
  •  takes into the Zoo or is found to have on their possession offensive weapons or dangerous articles.
  •  fails to follow the written or verbal healthy and safety instructions of each area or attraction at the Zoo or behaves in a matter which may endanger the safety or that person, other visitors or animals at the Zoo.
  •  feeds or attempts to feed any of the animals outside of the authorised and advertised feed for the birds and meerkats only.
  • takes alcoholic beverages into the Zoo on admission or appears to be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs or other substances.
  • behaves in a manner, which in our opinion is or likely or is likely to affect the enjoyment of other visitors.
  • The climbing of or standing upon fences, barriers, walls, structures or buildings on Zoo premises is strictly prohibited.
  • All smoking (including but not limited to cigarettes, pipes (including water pipes such as shisha and hookah pipes), cigars, herbal cigarettes and e-cigs/e-cigarettes) is strictly prohibited within the Zoo premises, with the exception of those designated smoking area located in the car park.
  • The use of bicycles, scooters, rollerskates, rollerblades, skateboards or any such other item is prohibited on the Zoo premises and entry into the Zoo with any such items of this nature will be denied, with the exception of child ride-along equipment which is fitted with a secure adult height control handle.
  • Clothing which is, in our opinion, offensive to other visitors is prohibited from being worn on the Zoo premises. Shoes and shirts/tops must be worn at all times.
  • Only persons or organisations authorised by us are permitted to sell or offer for sale any goods or services to visitors on the Zoo premises.
  • The park has a legal obligation to carry out health and safety drills, including but not limited to, Fire Evacuation Drills and Category 1 Animal Escape Drills. If a drill is scheduled for the date of your visit then you will be informed at reception before payment. If you do not wish to participate in the drill then you will:
    • have the opportunity to revoke entry to the park on that day and receive a date change for any pre-purchased tickets.
    • need to inform reception and, during the drill time, if you wish to enter the park for a visit, any staff that ask you to follow them to a safety point around the park as instructed in their drill procedure.
    • be asked to provide your initial and surname, for reporting of non-participation in the drill, for the purpose of staff protocol breach due to non-compliance.

Returns & Cancellation:

  • Please note that once you have placed an order on our Site, you are unable to cancel your order and all Services on our Site are non-refundable save for in exceptional circumstances. However, if you are unhappy with any physical items or goods we have provided to you as part of any Service ordered on our Site, you may return and obtain a refund in accordance with our Guarantee & Warranty clause below.
  • Flexible guarantee – admission tickets purchased from our Site are under a ‘flexible guarantee’, entitling you to use the tickets on another date with 12 months of the purchase date. Such reschedule requests must be made 24 hours before the date of visit, by calling 01754820107 or emailing admin@lincswildlife.comThe ‘Flexible Guarantee’ entitles guests to one change of date per booking. No refunds will be made on the ‘Flexible Guarantee’.

Guarantee & Warranty:

  • Any items or products that we provide to you as part of any Service ordered on our Site or any other perishable goods e.g. Rainforest Gift Shop items: If you are unhappy with any Item for any reason or you change your mind, you may return them to us at your own cost within 14 calendar days of receipt if you send us the proof of purchase. We will at your option, exchange the returned Items or refund you the price you paid for the Item, plus any applicable delivery or postal charges and any reasonable costs you incur in returning the item to us provided the Item(s) are returned in accordance with the bullet point below.
  •  If the Item(s) were delivered to you:

    (a)      you must return the Item(s) to us at Lincolnshire Wildlife Park, Dickon Hill Road, Friskney, Boston, Lincolnshire, PE22 8PP as soon as reasonably practicable together with the original packaging and a copy of your Confirmation (received in accordance with ‘How the Contract is Formed Between us’ above), together with a brief description of the fault;

    (b)      you have a legal obligation to keep the Item(s) in your possession and to take reasonable care of the Item(s) while they are in your possession.

  • We warrant that any Services we provide to you will be provided using reasonable care and skill.
  • As a consumer, you will always have legal rights in relation to Items that are faulty or not as described. We are under a legal duty to supply Items that are in conformity with this Contract. These legal rights are not affected by the guarantee provided at clause above, the returns policy in this clause or these Terms. Advice about your legal rights is available from your local Citizens’ Advice Bureau or Trading Standards office.
  • Your Warranty:By accepting these Terms and purchasing an order for Services on our Site, you warrant that you:(a)      are at least 18 years of age;

    (b)      have the ability to enter into a legally binding contract;

    (c)       have the authority to provide us with payment instructions from a payment card or billing account; and

    (d)      shall not without the Park’s express authority use any of our Services for any commercial, business or resale purposes.

Donations:

When purchasing entry tickets on our website you will be given the option to ‘Gift Aid’ your entry donation through the Governments GiftAid scheme. We have opted to claim the tax back from your entrance donation ourselves, meaning that you do not have to offer an additional donation to your entrance donation. However, we do need to collect your data in order to confirm you are a U.K Tax payer, for the charity to be able to claim the GiftAid monies.

    • Data collected through GiftAid will only be used for the purpose above and stored in accordance with Data Protection Law
    • Your data will only be shared with HMRC for this purpose.

By selecting the option to add Gift Aid when you make a purchase or stand-alone donation on our Site, you confirm to us that you:

  • are a UK tax payer and have paid Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for the current tax year (6 April to 5 April inclusive) that is at least equivalent to the amount that you are donating to us.
  •  understand that other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not apply.
  • understand that we, The Parrot Zoo Trust will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 donated; and acknowledge that the tickets or other Service purchased with Gift Aid are for the benefit of you and members or your family.
  • Should you wish to change your mind and cancel the Gift Aid, you must let us know in writing within 30 days of the date of Confirmation you receive in respect of the relevant ticket or other Service you have ordered.
  •  All donations made through our Site, unless otherwise stated are made to us, The Parrot Zoo Trust, a registered charity with the chariuty number: 1162135.

Animal Experiences:

  • When the duration of the experience is mentioned / advertised, this is an approximate indication and may differ on the day of your booked experience.
  • All Experiences will be available on selected dates according to availability. Places are booked on a first come, first served basis.
  • Experience bookings are non-refundable and non-transferrable outside of the expiry date provided. Changes in date of the experience are subject to availability.
  • Lincolnshire Wildlife Park reserves the right to ask any participant to leave the zoo should they behave in an inappropriate or unsafe manner, no refund shall be given.
  • Tiger feeding experiences are suitable for adults over the age of 16 only. 
  • Tiger Tours are suitable for adults over the age of 16 and children over the age of 5 only. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult over 16 at all times.
  • Children under the age of 5 may accompany adults under exceptional circumstances and only when authorised prior to experience date by Park management.
  • Exceptional circumstances include when the adult does not have another suitable adult to attend and care for the child under the age of 5 and the child will only be accepted to accompany the adult if secured in a pushchair or similar safety equipment; and not on the adults person. 
  • Black Leopard feeding experiences are suitable for adults over the age of 16 only.
  • Puma & White Lion experiences are suitable for adults and children over the age of 12 only. All children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult over 16 at all times.
  • Tapir feeding experiences are suitable for adults and children over the age of 12 only. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult over 16 at all times.
  • Lemur feeding experiences are suitable for adults and children over the age of 5 only. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult over 16 at all times.
  • Meerkat feeding experiences are suitable for adults and children over the age of 5 only. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult over 16 at all times.
  • Tortoise feeding experiences are suitable for adults and children over the age of 3 only. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult over 16 at all times.
  • Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate those with a disability or learning difficulty, due to practicality and health and safety this cannot always be achieved; please contact Lincolnshire Wildlife Park for advice before purchasing. It is your responsibility to inform us if you have any medical condition that you or your doctor feels we should be aware of in order to ensure your safety. Failure to disclose this information may mean that you will be unable to participate in the Experience on the day and no refund will be given.
  • Lincolnshire Wildlife Park reserves the right to reschedule any of the booked dates for the Animal Experiences. Lincolnshire Wildlife Park will give as much notice as possible; however this cannot always be guaranteed. Lincolnshire Wildlife Park cannot cover travel, accommodation or any other associated costs if the scheduled date is cancelled.
  • Lincolnshire Wildlife Park reserves the right to alter or cancel the Experience on any given day due to animal welfare or health issues or a change to the zoo’s collection, but Lincolnshire Wildlife Park will ensure that if this is the case then the activity will be replaced with another similar experience. Lincolnshire Wildlife Park will give as much notice as possible; however this cannot always be guaranteed.
  •  In cases of severe weather the Experiences may be rescheduled for another day. 
  • Lincolnshire Wildlife Park will endeavour to provide as much notice as possible but please be aware that cancellations may occur on the day of your Experience for reasons beyond Lincolnshire Wildlife Park control.

Animal Adoption Packs:

  • By purchasing an animal adoption advertised on our Site from time to time (Adoption), you agree to the terms set out in this clause.
  •  The benefits and prices of our Adoption packs for you or for a gift are as quoted on our Site from time to time. We reserve the right to reduce or alter such benefits attached to any Adoption package at any time. Adoption pack prices are in accordance with the ‘Price of Services’ clause below.
  • In some cases, when you purchase an Adoption, you are purchasing a share (or multiple shares) in an adoption of your chosen animal species, not an individual animal. As such, you are adopting a whole species. No animals (individual or species) will be exclusively adopted by one individual. This applies to the parrots, honey bees, lemurs, meerkats, reindeer, marmosets, turtles, tortoises, white lions and tigers.
  • Adoption does not imply ownership, nor does it create any liabilities in respect of any animal adopted.
  • Each Adoption is for a term of 12 months. This date will be stated on your personal certificate which you will receive with your Adoption welcome pack in any event.
  • All Adoption packs purchased are non-exchangeable, non-refundable and are not for resale.
  •  Any complimentary admission tickets issued with your Adoption pack are only valid during our standard opening times (as stated in the ‘About Us’ section above).
  • We do not make any guarantees that the species you have adopted will be on show or available for public viewing at the times that you visit the Park.
  • Once you have purchased an Adoption and receive email confirmation from us of your purchase, please allow 7 – 10 days for your Adoption welcome pack to arrive by post. Delivery may be longer around busy periods such as Christmas. We shall not be held liable for any delays in delivery once we have dispatched your Adoption welcome pack.

Promotions/Offers:

  • Any third party promotions are subject to the terms and conditions provided by the third party supplier and you should read these carefully, including any expiration dates which are stipulated before purchasing any tickets or other Services from our Site to ensure that any voucher or discount code is valid.
  • Many promotions are only redeemable at the Park’s admissions gate and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount.
  • We are not a party to and will not in any circumstances become involved in or liable for any third party’s terms and conditions of promotion or any dispute arising out of or in connection with them.
  •  We reserve the right to reject any promotional voucher or discount code for any reason whatsoever.

Price of Services:

  • Prices for our Services may change from time to time, but, save in the event of an error to which the ‘Error in Price’ clause below applies changes will not affect any order which we have confirmed with a Confirmation email.
  • Error in Price: It is always possible that, despite our reasonable efforts, some of the Services on our site may be incorrectly priced. In this event:(a)      where the Service’s correct price is less than the price stated on our Site, we will charge the lower amount; and

    (b)      if the Service’s correct price is higher than the price stated on our Site, we will contact you by email to the email address provided at the time of placing your order as soon as possible to inform you of this error and we will give you the option of continuing to purchase the Service at the correct price or cancelling your order. We will not process your order until we have your instructions. If we are unable to contact you using the contact details you provided during the order process within a reasonable period of time, we will treat the order as cancelled and notify you by email.

  • The price of a Service includes VAT (where applicable) at the applicable current rate chargeable in the UK for the time being.
  • Where delivery or postal charges apply, they will be as quoted on our Site from time to time on the relevant booking page.
  • Payment for all of our Services online must be made at the time of the relevant transaction using a debit card or credit card. We accept the following cards: Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard and Maestro.

Delivery:

  • This clause applies where you have ordered a Service on our Site that involves delivery of Items, including but not limited to Adoption Packs, Merchandise or Animal Experiences.
  • Delivery will be completed when we deliver the Items to the address you gave us at the time of making your order.
  •  The Items will be your responsibility from the completion of delivery.
  • You will own the Items once we have received payment in full, including all applicable delivery or postal charges.
  • Your order will be fulfilled within the estimate delivery period set out on the individual product pages. If we are unable to meet the estimate delivery date because of an Event Outside Our Control, we will contact you with a revised estimate delivery date.
  • International Delivery:  If you order Items from our Site for delivery to a destination outside of the United Kingdom, your order may be subject to import duties and taxes which are applied when the delivery reaches that destination. Please note that we have no control over these charges and we cannot predict their amount.
    •  You will be responsible for payment of any such import duties and taxes. Please contact your local customs office for further information before placing your order.
    • You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the country for which the Items are destined. We will not be liable or responsible if you break any such law.

Our Liability:

If we fail to comply with these Terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our negligence, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if they were an obvious consequence of our breach or if they were contemplated by you and us at the time we entered into the Contract.

We only supply our Services for domestic and private use. You agree not to use our Services for any commercial, business or resale purposes, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.

We do not in any way exclude or limit our liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  •  fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • any breach of the terms implied by section 12 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (title and quiet possession)
  • breach of the terms implied by sections 13, 14 and 15 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (description, satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose and samples)
  • defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987
  • any breach of the terms implied by section 2 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 (title and quiet possession)
  • any breach of the terms implied by section 3, 4 and 5 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 (description, satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose and samples).

We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under a Contract that is caused by an Event Outside Our Control. An Event Outside Our Control is defined below.

 An Event Outside Our Control means any act or event beyond our reasonable control, including without limitation epidemics of infectious diseases (such as amongst animals at the Zoo), strikes, lock-outs or other industrial action by third parties, civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war, fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic or other natural disaster, or failure of public or private telecommunications networks or impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport.

If an Event Outside Our Control takes place that affects the performance of our obligations under a Contract:

  • we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible to notify you
  • our obligations under a Contract will be suspended and the time for performance of our obligations will be extended for the duration of the Event Outside Our Control. Where the Event Outside Our Control affects our delivery of Items to you (see ‘Delivery’ above), we will arrange a new delivery date with you after the Event Outside Our Control is over.
