No blogs for a few days due to meeting meeting meetings, yes I looked today and we are on the 25th January and already i have had 18 meetings, with another one today, I have had meetings over animals, staff, finances, businesses, property and loads ore things, todays meeting believe it or not is about special heat retaining screeds for the macaw indoor house floors and future housing units, followed by another meeting with the architect discussing the new parrot welcome centre, we are at the initial design stage where we are looking at, what we need, whos it for, what ae they going to do and for how long. We then work out what its going to cost and how long it will take to build and then we, well we pray then 🙂 and wonder where the moneys coming from. But dont worry we do that for everything and always find a way somehow of making it come true.
Animal update: Only one problem at the moment and thats one of our Major Mitchell Cockatoos (Leadbeater for others) we know he is old and has always been disabled but yesterday he went very lethargic, so have to wait for the vet report later.
So where are we at present in the construction department, well we are cladding the new education centre, thats looking really well ad should be complete early next week ready to start on the internals. We are also cladding (with the same materials) the macaw house, its nice building them with all the solid insulated materials but making them look nice is another thing! so we cover the concrete blocks with heavy duty visqueen, then a timber frame ready to receive the the cladding, thats where we are now, cladding. We do though also have to take into consideration anything that will be built in the near future that is in close proximity, which is usually why things sometimes dont go as fast as we would like, so while we are building the Macaw house we knew it would lie behind the new Meerkat extension so have to lay the cables and set the paths in for that too, the paths wilol be in shortly as all the ground is now leveled and the trees that needed removing have gone.
